The Rangiora Airfield is owned and operated by the Waimakariri District Council with the assistance of the Rangiora Airfield Advisory Committee.
Location
Rangiora airfield (NZRT) is situated 3NM WNW of Rangiora township on Merton Rd, and has 3 grass strips.
Fuel
None of the runways have lighting, Jet A1 and Avgas 100 are available with Swipecard.
Runway safety
It’s everyone’s responsibility. We ask all users to help us to minimize runway incursions by keeping pedestrians away from the operational areas, particularly the runways and to keep dogs on leads at all times.
Hangers
Currently there are approximately 65 hangars at the airfield. All hangars are privately owned and built on land leased from the Council.
There are some hangar sites still available. To find out hangar availability, contact Monese Ball, Property Officer, phone 03 311 8900 or email monese.ball@wmk.govt.nz.
Note: not all hangars are suitable for helicopters - please check with the Council.(Click here for a plan of the airfield - pdf 182kb)
